Kimberly Curro:

I graduated the class of 2009 at Nevada Union High School and will be attending Sierra College in the fall. Currently I am signed up for my general education requirements, and have not at this time declared a major. My current interest are either to major in liberal arts to become an elementary teacher or kinesiology to become a physical therapist. I know I have plenty of time to make this decision but my goal is to complete my two years of community college and transfer to San Diego State.

Marika Conley:

As I complete my general education at Sierra College, I plan to pursue a degree in special education and continue to serve my community through raising guide dogs for the blind. Thank you again. You are helping me to pursue my dreams!

Melodie Lynn:

Ever since I was a very small girl I have had a dream of becoming a marine mammal trainer. In order to do that I have come up with a plan to get me there. I am going to go to Sierra College for two years to get my required courses done and transfer over to UC Davis for two more years to major in Biology and minor in either Zoology or Animal Science. After I have received my Bachelors Degree, I hope to attend the program for the training of large exotic mammals at Moorpark College in Ventura County for just one year, this is where I will get my experience as an actual trainer (I believe this will be the most fun part of my journey). So in several years look for me in the dolphin show at Discovery Kingdom!

Kelsey Waring:

After graduating high school I moved to Aptos, Ca to start school at Cabrillo Community College. I have finished two semesters Fall '08 and Spring '09. During this semesters I received A's and B's in all my classes and hold a 3.5 GPA. I have been working part time and doing volunteer work with a occupational therapist. I want to be an occupational therapist and hope to get into Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. I am currently taking summer semester so that I can graduate by spring '10. I am taking Physics and English 2 while making to work, volunteer, and make some time to have fun on the side. I know who I am and I have goals set to take me where I want to go. I want you to know that your scholarship made this possible. I never would have moved and discovered my passion with out you. Thank you.

Jenna Wirkner:

Currently I am an Agriculture Education/Animal Science Major at Butte Community College. I just finished up my freshman year and am excited for my fall semester to start up in August. I kept busy throughout the year with the Butte College Ag Ambassadors and the Butte County Young Farmers and Ranchers. I attended the National Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference, which happen to be held right here in the Agriculture State California. I was fortunate enough to meet Ag friends from all across the United States, and meet many new friends. After Butte, I plan on attending either Chico State or Fresno State.

 Jenna DeVere:

Currently I am nursing student attending University of San Francisco. I am going into my third year and continue to love and be excited about becoming a nurse. This past semester I have been working at California Pacific Medical Center one day a week for my clinical and next semester I am signed up to be at Stanford. I went into nursing school with the thought that I wanted to work in Labor and Delivery or become a midwife. As of now, that still interests me, but I still have a couple more years to help make that decision!
